I followed your instructions and get as far as "The installation failed." Can you please help?
Hey @JohnJohn ,
What are your specs, and which version of macOS are you trying to install (I'm assuming 10.14 Mojave DP)?
Mark Hi Mark,
Yes I am trying to install 10.14 Mojave DP. Initially I used macOS High Sierra Hackintosh to create the USB, that did not work as it I using the Apple File System. I tried again to make the 10.14 Mojave DP USB, using macOS Sierra Hackintosh the reason for asking for help.
@JohnJohn Ok, but what are your system specs?
Z97S SLI PLUS MS -7930
3.4 gigahertz Intel core i7 - 4770
Zotac GeForce 8400 GS
Ok, go into your BIOS and reset to defaults. Then, make sure that VT-D and GFC Lock are disabled. Also, I don't know if your board supports this, but disable CSM if that's enabled. Then try to boot and tell me what your results are.
Oh, also, why are you using an 8400 for your graphics . I'm assuming you're using that because it's easier to set up than integrated graphics? You'd get better performance if you use IG, just a thought.
Hi Mark, I can confirm that Both VT-D and GFC Lock are disabled. Yes I can boot into High Sierra and Sierra
Lets try to completely remake the drive. Maybe the installer app is corrupt somehow. Delete the installer app off of your computer, and erase the USB drive. Then, download the installer again (just reinstall the profile to bring up the App Store page). Follow the guide again and see if there are any differences. Also, lets try to use OsxAptioFixDrv instead of OsxAptioFix2Drv in the Clover settings.
Oh, also copy your config.plist file from your internal EFI partition over to the USB drive, since yours works.
Hi Mark, I removed the usb drive and formatted in windows 10. Re ran disk utility and ran the terminal command to make a new bootable media drive. Installed Clover v2.4k r4558. This time it installed correctly. At present in the Uk it is 22:47. I will continue with this project tomorrow.
Hi Mark, Completed the Bootable USB this morning, Booted OK. Tried to install from it. Got as far as "macOS could not be installed on your computer, any ideas?
Send a screenshot. I need to see what's underneath the error.
Not able to attach the Snap shot, Text reads "An error occurred while loading the installer resources. Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again"
Ok, let's try removing EmuVariableUefi-64.efi. Open the Clover installer, select the drive, press customize, and uncheck EmuVariableUefi-64.efi.
Some computers need it, some do not.
Followed your instructions, Still the same outcome
Check in the drive's EFI partition to see if EmuVariableUefi-64.efi exists in the drivers64 folder. If it does, delete it. The installer is supposed to do that, but maybe it failed.
The drivers64 folder was empty
